Kirk
Irwin drives his pickup truck through the back roads of the wine
country over and over again, always looking for the scenes that
capture the essence of the vineyard, looking for that special light
that transforms the ordinary to the magical. A decade on those back
roads has produced thousands of photographs of vineyards and grapes,
wineries and winemakers, barrels and bottles.
Living in
Santa Barbara, Kirk naturally concentrates on California's Central
Coast. However, travels to the many fine wine regions of California
and other western states have added depth to his photo files.
He photographs on assignment and for stock, on location and in
the studio.
Kirk's photos
are featured in numerous magazines
and books. His images are
also in demand for advertising, brochures, web sites, and marketing
displays. His fine art prints hang in homes and offices throughout
the United States and Europe.
The I&I
in I&I Images stands for Irwin & Irwin. For the first
ten years the second "I" was Kirk's wife, Beverly. Now
that second "I" is son Rick who has joined the business.
In addition to stock and assignment photography I&I Images
produces products that incorporate Kirk's photography. First it
was Santa Barbara County Wine Country calendars, then posters,
next mouse pads. Now new products are in development for sale
on the web and in stores and tasting rooms.
Kirk Irwin
committed over three decades to the aircraft industry where he
employed his technical, management, and marketing skills in modification
and maintenance of large airline aircraft. Early retirement in
1991 allowed him to turn to his lifelong passion for photography
and the building of a new business, I&I Images.
